Agricultural Spraying

We can offer a full range of spraying from knapsack, boom sprayer and air assisted. We can provide anything from a one off application to whole season contracts. Our operators are fully trained and NPTC qualified and are also members of The National Register of Spray Operators (NRoSO).

Also able to carry out spraying of Orchards, Hop Gardens and Grape Vines.

Amenity Spraying

We provide total care and control using herbicides, fungicides and insecticides for hard surfaces, recreation areas and sports grounds. We can also manage large golf courses and the smallest of areas such as tees, greens, cricket squares and bowling greens.

Woodland & Forestry Spraying

Spraying takes on two main aspects and uses either pesticides or herbicides to target pests and diseases (pesticides) or to eradicate weeds and invasive species (herbicides).

Spot spraying around newly planted or establishing trees is one of the tools in the establishment forester’s armoury to help reduce the weed growth and help promote growth within your newly planted trees.

Band spraying is used in ground preparation when the site has been left for a few years prior to planting and this can either be done using a knapsack sprayer or using a quad and or tractor mounted boom sprayer.

We are experienced in using Asulox in the control of bracken.

Industrial Spraying

Golding's Agricultural have extensive experience maintaining weed free areas in industrial sites. More mundane but never the less challenging is weed control on large areas used for permanent parking of caravans, cars or portable cabins. A recent task carried out has been extensive moss control on concrete areas which have been inaccessible to anything other than specialist machines. Our operators are fully trained and qualified for the job in hand undertaking risk assessments before and during work. A familiarity with working in areas where general public could gain access exists and appropriate steps would be taken. Chemicals suitable for the task in hand can be supplied and applied by Golding's Agricultural.

Invasive & Aquatic Weeds

We can provide a weed spraying program for aquatic areas. Before any spraying can be carried out permission needs to be agreed from the Environment Agency – this is something that we would be able to assist with. Our Operators are fully trained and hold a PA6W Certificate.

Specialists in controlling Japanese Knotweed, Giant Hogweed and Pennywort using a weed control chemical.

We use a Stem injection gun for the weed control for this plant, this works by injecting a small measured dose of weed control herbicide into each cane of the Japanese Knotweed or Giant Hogweed infestation. This allows the herbicide to translocate throughout the roots and rhizome of the plant. By using this method of weed control it will not harm any other plants or foliage in the area.

Japanese Knotweed

Japanese Knotweed spreads extremely quickly, preventing native vegetation from growing while posing a risk to properties and industrial sites.

Giant Hogweed

Giant Hogweed is a public health hazard due to its clear, watery sap which has toxins that cause photo-dermatitis. Skin to contact followed by exposure to sunlight produces painful, burning blisters that may develop into purplish or blackened scars.

Floating Pennywort

Floating Pennywort causes a range of problems including changing the availability of oxygen in the water, threatening fish and invertebrates, choking drainage systems and crowding our native water plants. Floating pennywort is difficult to control due to its rapid growth rates (up to 20cm per day) and its ability to re-grow from a small fragment. Regular cutting from May-October will prevent complete dominance and so help manage this plant. Cut material needs to be removed from the water immediately. Hand pulling (or spot chemical treatment) should follow cutting to reduce re-growth. Pulling is likely to work best on small infestations rather than large areas. Chemical treatment should only be used at the end of the growing season when all other plants have died back.

The Upper Medway IDB has hired the services of Golding’s Agricultural Services for the last two years to control the spread of aquatic weed growth using Herbicide in a number of important waterways around Kent. They have helped me tremendously organising all the relevant licences and paperwork with the Environment Agency.

I would recommend using Golding’s to anyone for the simple reason they are reliable and personal hands on approach. They have saved the Board thousands of pounds overall and made my life easier.

Thank you.
